HOT CAB

If I insulated the cab to keep heat out, would it cause the motor to over heat or to run hotter then it should?

You're fine. I wouldn't put too much thought into it though. The teryx/teryx4 are mid mount engines. its just plastic and already some insulation under the center console. Some people removed the spark arrester/hollowed out cat, removed the muffler and it was debatable how much heat it reduced. When you pull the center console out check how much room you have. without removing the factory stuff not sure what else you could put in there that would make a noticeable difference.

Have an idea on the material you're going to use?

Well I installed a TriAngle snorkel kit already so I know from that, that its tight. Thermo-coustic would be what i would use.
