Teryx LE?

Just purchased a 2019 teryx4 base this afternoon. At the dealership they kept pushing the LE model, but could not define what the LE package added to the base model for $2000. I tried Google, but no luck. So what does LE add? TIA......Rich

The LE has 4-headlights instead of 2 on the base. LE has a plastic roof, Base none. LE has nicer alloy wheels that are 1" taller than the steel wheels on the Base.

Though the LE has taller wheels the overall tire height is listed as equal for both LE & Base.

Drivetrain & suspension is same for all models.

I think that's it (I'm too lazy to go look it up)???

Thank you grandkids. You relayed more information in a couple of paragraphs than I received all day at the dealer. They kept saying upgraded suspension, but both units had the same shocks. Thanks again.

Teryx LE?

Grankodsmx is absolutely correct. Thatís why I went with a base model. Talked them into a roof before I sign the papers too. So all I was out was wheels which I was going to change anyways and 2 headlights.

And welcome to the Teryx forum.

Seats are upgraded in there stiching, not that it's a must by no means, but that is a LE feature, as long as the base has power steering that's all that matters to me, and that use to not matter but if u deer hunt in tight woods and own one one time with power steering u will have to have it

I believe the seats are identical in both LE & Base.

Camo has 4 led headlights and a roof. Seats aren't fancy colors, a arms and springs are black and base wheels. I chose camo. Priced like a base. I plan on new wheels/tires so bonus. Lights are a big deal as base lights aren't great. I pd $12900 camo 4 model 2018 new.

Yes they all have power steering that's why I say base just as good, seats may be the same, maybe it was camo with the plain seats, but camo don't show scratches , I like them too

My understanding is this: (and I could be wrong - it happens sometimes)

Seats are identical, except in the Camo version. The Camo is an LE with base wheels and no flashy colors, which is why the seats are monotone instead of tri-color.

Base has two hologin headlights, LE has four LED headlights.
Base has standard tail lights, LE has LED tail lights.
Base has no roof, LE has plastic roof.
Base has steel wheels, LE has aluminum. (I think newer base models also have aluminum, but they are all black)

Wheels, roof, lights. Everything else is identical between base and LE.

The color options are different on the base vs LE. LE paint is more scratch resistant, can be buffed.

If you plan on keeping it stock, I find the LE to be worth it, but if you plan on upgrading right away the suspension, wheels, tires, enclosure, the base is fine.

I purchased the base t4 and found this for paint protection. Still waiting for delivery, pickup has been pushed back to Wednesday. First things first, Ordered the Badlands 5000 winch and a base plate. Thanks for all your replies. -Rich

Mine is white. a.k.a. No Paint. Scratches also don't show as much because the color literally goes all the way through

The base vs. LE trims levels have varied slightly over the years, but here are some of the differences:

Tires and wheels:
Base has 12" steel wheels with 26" tires
2015 and older LE had 12" aluminum wheels with the same 26" tires, 2016 and newer have 14" aluminum
wheels and 27" tires

Roof:
Base = no roof
LE = roof

Headlights:
Base = single headlights
LE = older versions had single headlights but they were LED, newer LE's have dual headlights

Seats:
Base = older models had plain seats (single color), but newer base have the same multi-color seats as you get
in the LE
LE = just like above, older versions had multi-color seats vs. plain/single color but currently really no
difference

Body color:
Base = older models had body panels that were just colored plastic
LE = body was actually automotive grade paint
- not 100% what the current difference is, or if/when part of this changed

My 2015 is an LE model as I really liked the metallic candy green paint and aluminum color matched factory rims.....though looking back I should have just got a base model.....though in my defense this was the only T4 this particular dealer had in stock at the time.

So do the base models have high/low beams? Or is this another LE upgrade?

Our 2018 base model does have high & low beams but just two headlights. The switch has three positions, off, low, high.

Yes, and the LE model has four hi/low LED's on separate switches. meaning you can have both on low, both on high, or one each. Your choice.

I went with the base and then added a second set of cheap LED lights with no hi or low in the blank spot. I use these as day time running lights so I can be easily seen on dusty trails. On the rare occasion I need more light than the two stock hologen's can provide (and they really aren't that bad) I just hit the big light bar.

I've never ridden in the dark on an LE with four LED's on high so I have no idea how well they work, but everyone seem's to add light bars anyway so not sure it really matters?

I'm a LE owner that has not added any light bars. I did add a couple reverse lights attached to an extra toggle switch. Jury is still out on whether or not the stock LEDs on the LE will be good enough. I'll likely be doing my first night riding in the next couple months once it starts to get a bit warmer.

Had a 2015 base and lights SUCKED! Now with 2018 Camo the 4 LED are pretty good. Distance isn't light bar or car length but plenty bright. I still plan a small led bar and maybe pods for the sides. Stock I can see all I need to but always more light is good.

Did you know that the Teryx (and even my Brute Force ATV) have reverse light wiring already installed from the factory? I added lights to both and now have automatic reverse lights without adding any extra switches.

I agree, more light is always better, but I can't drive with the light bar on when on-road, and I turn it off when meeting others on the trail out of kindness. When someone with a big light bar comes at you, you are BLIND, and that doesn't work well on narrow mountain roads.

I did, but I wanted to be able to manually flip them on so my mirrors aren't completely useless when riding at night. I may eventually wire in some diodes so I can have them turn on automatically or manually.

base lights suck mightily, you couldnt even shine your way to the outhouse , the first thing I did is bought (mistakenly) OEM upgrade second set only to find that you can get aftermarkets for 1/3 of Kawi price. SHAME ON ME
second thousand dollar mistake was buying base with 12 inch wheels., bottoming out on every hump on the trail, now upgraded to 14" wheels with 27 " evolution's
then a factory roof , skid plates, splash guards and so on
I was thinking that getting a good deal in 2018 on a 2017 T2 would compensate for upgrading . In the end , all things considered I should have bought an LE saving me some hassle.
But now, after 1 year ownership , machine is customized so much that you wouldn't recognize base anymore, from lift kits, custom bed box, windshield, fuel vent and gear boxes vent mod, and dozens of small and larger things from boss stereo to winch and what have you
pumping money in the pit................

The larger rims/tires are the primary reason I went with the LE. I was VERY close to going with a "Camo" model which did include a roof and power steering. At first glance, I thought the only difference was the LE had fancier looking rims (did not realize initially it was 12 vs 14) and 26 vs 27" tires. I told the sales person I was going to go with Camo and made an offer, he went to the sales manager with my offer and while I was waiting I started looking at the LE closer when I spotted the difference with the wheels/tires. He came back, offer excepted and I basically said, never mind, I want the LE instead. Glad I went with LE, in the end it was a mere $500+ tax extra.
