2 Miles and hole in tire in new machine

I got 2 miles and hole in my tire. Luckily it was in the yard. I heard the air come out and rushed back to get it in barn. Maybe ran over stick.

I got almost 3k miles of bad buch on my other. Ya it has a tire that leaks. But not holes

I can see the hole.

Anyone want to mention, oh ya the 19s have bad tires?????

I have never had a hole. I am not a trail rider. 3 CV boots. Dif cover gone. Fenders gone.

I ride through logging tops, stumps, ect.

I realize people are not going to believe you. Salesman said whats in it? I told him no air. Then he said we don't build them. I snapped at that. Service department said bring it in.

I cut the wheel hard, I was doing 5-10 and coming up on a tree I have planted. I thought I ran over the stake, but it was the other side.

There was a stick in the area. All I an figure is that. But these things go over sticks. I got I am pulling them out of the skin plates all the time. Stuff wedged in.

I have never had a hole in a tire Both my other two machines have a tire that leaks.

Bad luck I dunno. I realize no one is going to believe you but, these things are meant to run over stuff.

Old tires were 10 psi in rear not 15. Doesn't seem like much diffreence but atvs run low air.

2 Miles and hole in tire in new machine

Iíd go ahead and upgrade to an 8 ply tire. Iíve put close to 5000 miles on 4 different 8 ply tires in West Virginia and never had a flat. The tires were pro armor crawlers, efx motoclaws, STI Outback max, and Tusk Terrabites.

All those miles were not on a Teryx either.

I don't run 15psi. 10-12psi. I run through it all. Logg landings, clearcuts, quarry spawl rock etc. If ya do buy new look at the Blackwaters. Had em on RZR. 8ply radial with good traction. Not great on gravel or road. Tough.

I am not the type to spend $1200 for tires. I run stock. My 4wheeler which is arond the yard too is from 2005. Tractor from the 90s I suspect. 2010 Teryx still stock tires. Got leaks. But never punctured.

It is like the knob was getting tore off. I don't get it. i yanked wheel kinda hard, but was only going 5-10 mph. I was in a tight area in my yard. Did I run a stick over?

Abut 1" gash at base o knob.

When I look at all my 2010 has gone through, it just blows my mind at 2 miles, this thing is dead in the barn. My rear fenders are torn off. Was beating skid plate with a hammer. Front dif plate torn. 3 cv boots. Sticks through the wheel well,.

If anything go back to what is 2010 base model, you know they were cheap ass base tires.

Again I want to know why Kaw is now putting 15 psi in rear. 11 in front, was 10 all the way around. 4 wheelers 5. My truck I add air based on load.

It isn't $1200 tires. It is $1200 PER tire. You do save $200 with the discount and you don't need a spare.

I forgot to add that if the manufacturer is putting air in the tires, I'm guessing it is to make the machine fit in the crate better. The dealer is supposed to check them again.

huh???? Kaw used to spec 10 psi ,now 15. IS that the problem? I dunno. It is a new variable. That and different tires.

I just don't know people who get flats. Isn;t that why the psi is low and tires are thick? I carry Slime, co, and pump. But never seen it happen out in the woods. Let alone my yard.

Itís a tire. Itís made largely out of rubber. Itís not indestructible and itís hallow inside. Punctures happen.

Salesman said what's in the hole,I s napped when he said we don't build them.

Service guy say bring it in.

I realize it is a tire. But I have never had a flat. Ride ever all kinds if crap off trail. This happened in my yard.

I don t care what kaw says, unless they can convince me I am going back to 2010 specs of 10 psi.

I guess I should look at spare tires. Hate losing the room,or money.

Down loaded rzr manual. They have 14 in rear too. Curious what has changed in industry.

Was there a hp gain from 750 to 800, that dictates change?

Bad break maybe all it is. But I have never had a flat, other than leaks.

How was I mister lucky before?

Reading on tire pressure not sure what is what.
Will high pressure bounce off sticks? I was just riding in my yard.

I cut the wheel hard and that is when it blew. There was stick nearby, not sure if that was before though.

Hard turn on grass ripped knob????

Not sure about 2010 but the 2011 spec. is 8.7 (9) front and 13.1 (13) rear. The cargo capacity of the original Teryx including 2 passengers and cargo was only 930 lbs. which would be one reason for the recommended increase in tire pressure on your new ride. Airing down is a very common practice when more traction is required as in rock crawling, I don't think it will prevent punctures. If you have a defective tire(possible) and the knob actually tore off the carcass of the tire, lower tire pressure would not prevent that, it would probably make it worse with the tire flexing more.

They said I could order tire so I could have it for memorial day. I said no it encourages them not to approve.

Plus I can't let them profit. I got a 2nd machine luckily. Could be a long time before this one sees action busy weekend after memorial day. Could think 3 year warranty. Probably going to lose a month.

I sure have not had 10k of fun.

dude it looks like you ran over a metal spike, Like an old tent stake or something. It boils down to shi* luck and not a Kawasaki issue. You're running the stock 4 ply Tires which everyone knows are not the best. I ran the stock tires for 300ish miles over all kinds of shit and never got a flat...........then again I never tried running over a sharp Metal spike either. My first upgrade was a 2" lift AND new tires because I knew ahead of time that factory 4 ply Big Horn tires were not going to hold up. If you want 8 ply performance tires you're just going to have to go and buy them because these machines dont come with them.
