Hauling on open trailer

New to here and side by side. I have been told you can blow the windshield out hauling on an open trailer. One piece full windshield an a roof is what I have on it now but want to add soft doors and back windshield later. Thanks

my 2017 teryx4 le has a full windshield and full hard roof, and rear window mesh/net and I tow with an open trailer only no issues.

* I don't think I would drive with it backwards on the trailer as it could create a parachute effect maybe I don't know. But I have it facing the front of the trailer and no issue. The window doesn't even appear to flex etc. It doesn't move when the teryx4 is at 55mph on its on wheels not sure how 65-75 would a whole lot different.

I have a SuperATV flip up full windshield on my T4. I have towed it thousands of miles on an open trailer with no issues at speeds up to 75 mph. As mentioned above, all those miles were with it facing forward. I wouldn't want to tow it facing backwards with the windshield on.

I agree. Unless you are towing at ludicrous speed, it shouldn't be a problem. I've open towed my full windshield T2 at 75MPH with no issues at all. But honestly, we probably shouldn't tow anything above 70MPH anyway. I know we do, just that it isn't recommended. (Trailer tires are not rated above 70)

Only warning I would offer is that if you happen to have a T2 and want to tow at 70MPH plus, remove your side panels over your storage boxes. If the wind catches them just right, they WILL blow off. This is NOT a concern on the T4.

Good question! Thanks for asking :icon_thumleft:

Thanks for the replies. I will give it a try with the windshield on and see what happens.

If you're worried about it I can suggest this product. Go to Amazon and search for "UTV Windshield Fast Strap four"

(Link added at bottom)

I installed them on my windshield and it makes taking the windshield on an off a breeze. Easily the most convenient windshield mod available.

Makes it easy to take off for transport and also on those hot days where you want a breeze through the cab.

I did have to order two sets of these because my windshield has 6 connection points.

Towed mine from Washington to Moab Utah with zero issues.

Cool! I've never seen windshield straps like those before. Thanks! I'm adding those to my next shopping list!

Those are the straps that came stock on my windshield. They are easy to attach/detach and they hold firmly.

Thanks! I guess I missed that review of yours. How many of these rubber straps do you have on your windshield? I can see six on the sides, but your pics suggest there may be one or two up top as well?

You are correct. There is a total of 8-straps.
