I'm looking at getting a light bar for my 2015 Teryx4 and am wondering what is better - a curved or straight light bar? From the research I've done I narrowed it down to a 52" straight light bar or a 50" curved light bar. Any thoughts which is better and why?
Neither, nobody needs stadium lighting on the trails, only serves to blind everyone else.
I have two small pod led flood lights on the top of my bumper and I can see all I need to see. And not blinding...
I don't run mine unless I'm leading or riding alone. If it's a heavy traffic trail (which is rare where I ride) I leave it off and run the cubes on my A pillars.
I have a 50" curved, and it's awesome. If you have the plastic roof it follows the roof contour. I used Axia Alloy mounts. Make sure you use a relay and appropriate wire, not the wimpy stuff that comes with the light
I had a 22" straight mounted on my Rex. The brackets broke so I got a new 30 for Christmas I'm going to put on soon and a 7" to point behind me for when I'm plowing. And for the guys saying about blinding others that's why they have an off switch. Where I run in usually the front of the pack or driving alone so no one to blind and people like having me up front with all the light. Where we ride there is a huge moose population and a lightbar makes a huge differance travelling at night when it comes to spotting those black monsters!
The Axia part number for the mount is MODLED8. There are knock offs on EBay etc. but with the tree branches etc. on the trails, I didn't want to trust those brackets
I'm looking to mount a curved 50 inch below the roof. One, my OCD won't allow a straight bar to be under a curved roof, and Two, the curved will by nature throw more light to the sides. I will also have pods mounted facing the sides and a 10 inch facing the rear. I use mine for night hunting, so I'm not concerned with blinding others
There are also 3, 5, and 10w individual LED's Avaliable in these bars now. I just ordered a 20 or 22" with 10w bulbs in it. Partially because it runs fewer, higher output bulbs and I worry a little about current draw because it'd be a looooooong walk out. Since your thinking about a new addiation anyway.
What gauge wire did u use my came with 14 gauge will that work Thanks
