I'm still running my stock battery. None of my accessories have given me any cause to replace it yet. For my motorcycle, I just upgraded to one of those new lithium batteries and so far I am really impressed with it. I don't know that I would get one for the Teryx though as I hear they are not the best under extended heavy load such as winching. Much smaller form factor for the power though and unbelievably lite weight

Aftermarket Battery

Just bought the odyssey battery today. I'll give feed back on it later after I run it a bit. Most of my buddies run these with good luck.

I picked this one because it fits without any modification.

So I went to put the odyssey battery in that they sold me and it is way smaller than the stock battery. So if you want to install this one you need to put a spacer under it. So it isn't a direct bolt in like the guy at battery outfitters told me. I'm a little pi$$'d.

The odyssey battery people "love" is smaller capacity than factory. That's a $200 downgrade. What you want is the 20 hour capacity, not cold cranking amps. The 20hr will tell you the storage of the battery, larger the better. Odyssey is around 28aH, you can get an AGM from Deka/East Penn that's 35aH for $90.

Do your research before blindly following advice on the internet.

I ended up going and getting just a similar sealed battery to the stock one. Oydessy is going back on Monday.

If going with a standard style "lead acid" battery, I have had the best luck with Interstate batteries.

I have also heard from at least one reputable source that the Optima's changed and are not nearly as good as they used to be. If true, I would avoid them at all costs.

AGM is going to be your best bet in my opinion, and again, its just an opinion. I did recently install a new Lithium Ion battery in my motorcycle and so far I love it.. Jury is still out on if it is good for a Teryx so I will hold off on that for now.

I got the std battery at batteries plus. The guy there was very knowledgeable on the batteries. He recommend an agm battery they sell. It is actually one for a miata, so it has posts so you need his little converter to go from post to little bolts. Unfortunately he was out of that battery for a couple days and I needed one right away to go ride the next day. Might check it out. Also be careful on their website if you put in teryx it comes up with a bunch of batteries that "fit". The guy at the store did not like their site since if you do a search it only looks at size. So the results have a bunch of gel batteries that it say are for the teryx that are the wrong type of battery.

A little pricey but I run a 15ah Limitless Lithium. It's equivalent to 1.5 Group 31 Agm batteries capacity wise, at about a tenth of the weight and less than half the size.

Actual size wise, its a little smaller than stock so it fits in the stock location easily.

If you referring to capacity being less than stock, its not even close. Usable capacity is literally 3 to 4 times that of the stock battery. You cant compare the aH ratngs between standard cell and lithium. As the whole point of Lithiums is the non linear discharge, which is where you get the huge "usable" capacity.

I have approx. 1300 watt rms stereo that drains the stock battery, ignition off, in about 15 mins of heavy play time. The lithium has gone over 1.5 hours, ignition off. The battery is $500 for a reason.

So my original battery on my 2016 Rex is finally letting go. It still starts, but the volt meter says that it has dropped to 11.7 volts at rest. So... its time to change.

Earlier in this thread, I mentioned that I had installed a Lithium battery in my motorcycle. I should follow that up with, that battery died after about two rides. Cause of death, motorcycle vibration. So I would definitely avoid getting one of those for our bikes.

I have removed the old battery and am trying to locate a new one. I must say, getting the old one out was a big time PITA I can only imagine how much pain it is going to be to get the new one back in.

One problem I am finding, is that the terminals are backwards from my stock battery. Even the Odyssey battery linked above has the terminals on the wrong side.

So now that its been a couple of years since this subject came up, anyone else have any suggestions as to what to get? I want the best possible I can get since changing it is so painful. I don't want to have to do it again for a good long time!

I looked at this on Amazon. Looks like Optima changed somewhere around 2017 and what they have now is junk. Prior to that, they were very highly rated. So I think I will avoid them for now
