Cage Chop (front bumper)

Just did a cage chop on my 18 T4LE, and was looking for a sleeve to use. I have the factory front bumper I was going to discard, I found the top bar is 1.75 OD, so I cut a chunk out and it worked perfect. Just an FYI for anyone with a stock bumper laying around looking to do this chop.

Did that give you enough sleeves to do the jobs?

how much of a chop? 4" 5" etc..

I hope you can post PIc's !

I have some questions for you...

Having done this myself but using real roll cage tube for the sleeves, did you encounter any trouble getting that tube to seat into either side especially where the handles are welded to the larger tube. Cause I had one hell of a time with mine! I even broke out the 16# sledge and couldn't make it happen... had to pull them apart and die grind the inner tubes to get the deformation out before the sleeve would seat.

I chopped 4" out of my Prowler to make it fit in my Toyhauler, I regret having done it, as my head kept hitting the roll bar. I did not put any sleeves in the cage when welding, I just made sure the cuts were square and then butt welded together.(putting in the RZR seats probably did not help with the head clearance)
