Extreme Metal Products Poly Windshield - Review

For those Teryx owners who are looking for a hard coated, Polycarbonate, full windshield, the Extreme Metal Products (EMP) model might fill your needs.

During the Summer my wife and I prefer running no windshield. However, during the cold weather months we decided to purchase a full windshield to block the cold air from hitting us directly while on a ride.

Considering that I will be taking the windshield on & off over the course of a season I was looking for a design with easy to remove mounting brackets. When I found the EMP model with rubber quick-release mounts I knew the design features would make the windshield as simple and quick to install & remove as any design could be.

The EMP hard coated polycarbonate windshield is 1/4" thick and comes nicely machined around the edges with no imperfections or sharp edges. Both sides have a protective film to protect the windshield from being scratched during shipping. The fastener mounting holes are oblong to allow adjustments for perfect centering on the Teryx.

The rubber mounting brackets are thick and the latching system is solid and secure.

Provided fasteners are all black and the nuts are all Nyloc style lock nuts. Washers are large diameter.

The protective rubber trim that lines the bottom of the windshield is thick and heavy-duty.

There is also a heavy, colored, glossy paper instruction sheet that is well written and easy to follow. Though, most folks would easily understand how the windshield mounts with no instructions at all.

Lastly, EMP sent along a nice logoed drink koozie and coincidentally, it fits perfectly in the Teryx drink holders.

Mounting the windshield was as easy as it looks like it would be. I was easily able to handle and mount it on our Teryx with no help from another person. The EMP Polycarbonate windshield can literally be installed, or removed in a matter of seconds!

There are eight mounting brackets. Three on each side of the windshield, and two more on the top. The EMP windshield comes with cut-outs along the top to clear the mounts for the OEM plastic roof so no cutting or grinding is needed to fit with the roof in place.

If you are in the market for a full Polycarbonate windshield make sure you have a look at the EMP models…, I think you’ll see the value in their design.

The EMP Polycarbonate windshield is quick and easy to install & remove.

The rubber mounting brackets are heavy-duty and easy to latch in place.

The protective rubber seal fits the hood contours perfectly.
