Another heat and sound project

So heat and noise on the teryx isn't as bad in my opinion but I figured if we can improve it, why not. So I removed every panel and all the heat shields and the exhaust.

First, high temp primer, high temp paint, titanuim heat wrap from dei and then sprayed it with high temp silicone spray. I did remove the little heat shields on the exhaust as the just rattle and would hold water.

Second bought dei gold heat tape and covered the inside (engine side) of the heat shields. Not sure if this did anything but figured I'm already here.

Third purchased kilmat from Amazon put that on the outside of the heat shield as well as on all the plastics near and above the engine and exhaust.

And finally cut a louver vent into the driverside plastic to help vet some of the air from the engine. It helps a little but nothing substantial.

I have wrapped my exhaust pipes to help with heat and noise. Noticeable is about all I can rate the improvement. I bought the 12 inch square black foam silencer panels. They fit easily on the roof with spray adhesive around the roll bars and BINGO about 10 decibels less I would guess. I have a front and rear windscreen , roof, and doors so the noise was terrible. Those panels are cheap from Amazon. I have had them on for two years now, a couple needed adhesive touch ups . I blow the dust out of them every once in awhile, depending on how much dust I have been driving in.

nice... I haven't thought about treating the roof with something. Were they something like these? I don't have full doors but do have front and rear shields so I imagine this might still help a little. The noise has never really bothered me all that much, but this is cheap enough to be worth looking into.
Never would have thought about the roof that's a pretty good idea.
Nice job. Keep us posted and post more photos of areas that the media was attached to.
