I have been looking at bed mat options for my T2. They all seem expensive for what they are... I want one to keep things from sliding around in the hard plastic bed.

First thing I came across was actually the earlier gen Teryx mat, relatively cheap @ $62 but still seems a bit much for a chunk of rubber. Part# Durakon BM814
This mat WILL NOT FIT later gen T2 that do not have the wheel well humps visible in the bed floor.

Next is the Kawasaki Part# TX000-06 for $125-ish. This actually shows up as a Mule Accessory but shows a Teryx in the photo. That leaves me a little unsure of true fitment. I found one lone review for the product on Amazon and it basically said it was garbage. The photo looks OK and it has cut outs to get to the bed floor tie downs but according the reviewer, it was not rubber but more of a hard plastic that would now lay out flat from being rolled up for shipping.

I am now looking for reasonable priced DIY options. One thought I want to look at is a rubber horse stall mat for Rural King/Tractor Supply. The 3' x 4' 1/2" thinner model, not the 4' x 6' 3/4" thick one. 3' x 4' Recycled Rubber Mat $26.99

This looks a little more realistic on price and the bed floor is pretty square. I think I could cut one of these to fit. One concern is 1/2" thick seems a little overkill. I am going to keep looking before committing.

A friend suggested a truck bed mat and cut to size but those start at $100+ and seem rare on Facebook Marketplace for a good deal.

Anybody else with a good DIY experience or product suggestion, please chime in.

I will update if I find a solution that I like and works. Pictures of whatever my final solution, will of course be uploaded.

I actually used Tractor Supply 3/4" horse mat to make a bed mat for my truck. It has round circles molded in to one side (the other side is smooth) that prevents things from sliding around. I don't know if the 1/2" thick mat does or not, but if it does, I think that would be about perfect.

You don't really want a thinner mat I think as it would likely have a tendency to "roll up" when things started to move around. The thicker mat wouldn't do that, so I think it would be a great choice.

I found something at Menards that I have given a try. It is a 3ft x 5ft rubber mat that is about 3/8 thick. It has a textured side and a smooth side. It was a lot easier to cut than horse mats and didn't add much bulk.

Menards $20.97 before their usual rebate.
Apache Mills® Black 3' x 5' Mission Door Mat, Model Number: 60-060-9501, Menards SKU: 7036618

I did cut slits to bring the D rings from the bed floor up through. Makes them still usable for tie downs and keeps the mat from moving in the bed. I think it will keep cargo from sliding around and give the dog better grip. For the price point and fit thus far, I am happy.

I use commercial carpet squares and cut them to the size I want. Your local carpet warehouse probably has open box squares that you can get for reasonably cheap, and it'd be much better quality than the ones you'd find at HD or Lowes. Commercial carpet is made to stand up to heavy traffic and it's rubber backing is pretty heavy duty.

I also used them to make floor mats in an attempt to cut dust and noise down.
