I have been told by a work colleague the you must tighten the arm and shock bolt on the ground and not on the hoist . Is this true .

yes there is some truth to that called rubber elasticity. half of the a arm bushings are a rubber pressed in style if you had tires off the ground full droop and you tightened them the rubber is bound up then when on its tires static sitting they are being stretched and can affect ride quality. so yes best to have the machine static on the ground in its normal ride height position when tightening those bushings the others ones dont care. aftermarket ones like gp porducts dont care
