Belt slip maybe? How many miles on your belt?
Scary moment...
I have a 2016 Teryx 800 and I was riding on a very smooth gravel road, up hill, yesterday at about 40 mph when it sounded and felt like my transmission jumped out of gear for an instant. Everything seemed fine after that one second but it sounded bad for that instant. Any ideas on what it might have been? I had a load in the bed of 150 lb or so. Thanks.

Every 3K miles or when you start noticing slippage.
My belt starts barking at launch around 3000 miles. I change it around 3500. Open to suggestions for a clutch upgrade...
