crankcase gasket

i have a 2014 teryx 4 800 that I'm rebuilding and have a service manual . I'm having trouble with the liquid gasket only being applied to the outer surfaces of crankcase . it appears to me that there is water or other ports that meet up and need sealing inside the crankcase . Also i installed new pistons with instructions from the manual to face the letter F that is marked on the top side of the piston to the front side of the motor . I'm guessing that means towards the center of the engine for both pistons ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The “F” stands for front, so when installed in the engine, make sure the “F” on both pistons is facing the front of the engine. The “F” will line up with the exhaust valves on the front cylinder, and the intake valves on the rear cylinder.

thanks,

I am still unsure if i applied the gasket material correctly it does state apply to the outer edge of the crankcase and even has a diagram . but I'm not an expert and a little worried if i applied it right. there is mating surfaces inside the crankcase that I'm worried about.

Thanks again
