we put 2 in. one on top of the ignition switch and one under the headlight switch on the other side. we used K4 switches there sand sealed, and they were off-on-on so we could use only 2 switches to power 4 things... so all the way down would be off, middle the whip comes on and all the way up the whip and dome light will be on. if you need any help with switch configurations we can help.

Thats a clean install. Didnt think about the three way switch. I would want it exactly as you did. Whip one stage and the interior and whip stage two. Good idea.

 

That is a killer idea and makes for a very clean install. Will have to use this when it comes time to add the lights to mine.
