Idling isn't bad... Music should cover it! Lol

It does, but when sitting around talking for a few minutes when you meet someone on the trail have to turn machine or fan off. My wife drives sometimes so I hooked it up to come on with the key instead of a switch so it couldn't be forgotten.

I would leave it run all the time.

Hey guys, Unfortunately putting the fan on the exhaust was not the way to go. Got so hot that it melted the plastic fan housing causing the fan to lock up and burn up. That then caused a restriction in te normal air flow and almost cost me a belt also.... So back to the drwing board as far as the fan goes... I don't thin I have room to put the fan on the intake side of the cvt housing.... My machine is a 2012 and I have a radiator pipe right next to the intake... any ideas?

Im trying to work out the same problem. Ill let you know and you let me know. Thanks for the info.

Maybe put the fan at the end of the snorkel?? This is what I am planning on doing. It'll be up by the roof on the exhaust side instead of down near the engine.

T4maniac,

I may have the solution to the fan/snorkel issue. I have water tested my after I reinstalled everything. It doesn't leak, but I have not had it only any long rides since the reinstall. Plan on going to a park the weekend of the 7th and that will tell me if the heat problem/seal issue I had is solved... Here is a sneak peak to what I did. If it ends up working, I will post all the pics and a video...z

T4maniac,

Rode an ATV all day last Saturday. Deep holes and so far the fan is working and there are no loeaks (belt housing is dry). I am going on another all day ride on the 21st and if after that it is still working and dry, I will post of the video and more pictures of my install.

I would not reduce a diameter of cvt intake and exhaust ports. It will end up reducing airflow and lead to overheating of cvt components. Cvt exhaust is 3" diameter and intake is 2.75". I wish there was a snorkel kit out there to match stock diameter of cvt ports.

You shouldn't need a fan. I've put 2000 miles on my snorkels with 30's trouble free. My intakes run up the A pillars and my cvt comes right out of the center hump.
